Description
These Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls combine the bold, savory flavors of a classic cheesesteak with a crispy, golden exterior. Perfect for game day, parties, or a comforting dinner treat.
Ingredients
- 1 lb thinly sliced steak (ribeye or sirloin)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 6 large flour tortillas or egg roll wrappers
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or provolone)
- ¼ cup cream cheese (optional, for extra creaminess)
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)
- Paprika for dusting (optional)
Instructions
-
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil, then the steak. Season with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Sear for 2–3 minutes per side until just browned. Don’t overcook—keep it juicy.
-
Add onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Sauté until soft, about 4 minutes. Stir in cream cheese if using, and a splash of Worcestershire sauce for depth.
-
Lay a wrapper flat. Spoon in 2–3 tablespoons of the steak mixture and top with shredded cheddar cheese. Roll burrito-style, sealing the edge with water.
-
To cook:
• Pan-fry – Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Fry rolls for 2–3 minutes per side until golden.
• Air-fry – Preheat to 375°F. Air-fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway. -
Sprinkle with chopped parsley and dust with paprika. Serve hot!
–Notes
Don’t skip the sear—it brings that perfect crispy edge and rich flavor.
For a spicy kick, toss in jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
Freeze uncooked rolls on a tray; once solid, transfer to a bag. Air-fry straight from frozen for 10 minutes.
Egg roll wrappers give the crispiest texture, but tortillas work in a pinch.
